The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage (TCCH) is pleased to announce the completion of conservation works at several sites within the framework of the “Support to cultural heritage monuments of great importance for Cyprus” project funded by European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The works completed consist of the following: Agios Georgios at Afendrika, Panagia at Afendrika, Asomatos at Afendrika, Orounda mosque, mosque in the village of Maroni, mosque in the village of Kale Chorio/Vuda, Mosques in the villages of Lefkara, Alektora, Avdimou/Evdim, Tera
Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage continue with safeguarding efforts during lockdown
“The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage during these challenging times has continued its regular weekly meetings though teleconferencing to review priorities and future activities. On behalf of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage we have continued honouring our mandate whilst at the same time ensuring that we fully adhere to the lockdown restrictions. Over the coming weeks in accordance with the lifting of applicable restrictions, we will be overseeing the safe resumption of works/efforts at 10 cultural heritage sites across Cyprus by implementing the required safety measures and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Plaque unveiling marks completion of upgrading to Kyrenia Shipwreck Gallery
